Microsoft came to IVM, through our partner, Zones Inc. out of Auburn, Washington, with an interest in enhancing the user experience of retrieving everyday IT consumables. Because of the extensive process to get their hands on a new headset, or power cord, or set of batteries, many employees would look elsewhere, whether that be a trip to Best Buy, Staples, or even an Amazon purchase if they weren’t in need of the accessory immediately. When employees went outside of the internal purchasing process, they didn’t get to take advantage of the Microsoft discounts, and the chargeback to the department, and the expense report process was just another time-consuming project. Enter in the IVM machine, with credit card accessibility, where employees can use their p-card, purchase an item and get on with their day, while letting the technology within machine provide the administrators with all of the detailed information on each transaction.
